To test the emergency lights
When the Lamp fails, the indicator would indicate as Red (Blinking – three times). The Non-Contingency test is for testing the Battery for its “discharging” and “recharging” capacity. A 15 minute battery discharge test is performed every 30 days to check for the normal operation of the battery and the unit.
The device is connected to the building’s electrical supply, which provides a constant charge to the battery. In the event of a power failure, circuitry in the fixture activates the lights, so that occupants can see to exit the building.
By releasing the test button, or reconnecting the current on L1, the light fitting will perform a Function Test. 3. By pressing and releasing the test button twice in the space of 5 seconds (or breaking and reconnecting the current on L1 twice in the space of 5 seconds). the fitting will reset itself.
A STEADY GREEN on the LED indicator indicates a normal service; BLINKING GREEN indicates that the unit is in testing mode; GREEN/RED FLASHING indicates that the battery is charging; RED (STEADY and BLINKING) would indicate a fault or a service alert.
