Evel Knievel was the pioneer of distance motorcycle jumping. And for his efforts, he paid the price. He crashed more than 20 times and suffered numerous injuries, mostly broken bones. He spent the following month in a coma with a crushed pelvis and femur, and fractures to his hip, wrist and both ankles.
During his career, Knievel may have suffered more than 433 bone fractures, earning an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the survivor of “most bones broken in a lifetime”.
