The Ford Windstar (later the Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey) is a minivan that was produced and sold by Ford. Following a decline in sales across the minivan segment in the mid-2000s, the Freestar and Monterey were discontinued after the 2007 model year with no direct replacement.
Locate the override button on the alarm box, beneath the driver’s side of the dashboard. Press the button and hold it in until the alarm beeps one time. The LED light for the alarm should stop blinking, indicating the antitheft system is disabled.
Turn the ignition to the off position and remove the second coded key from the ignition. After three seconds and before 20 seconds, insert the new uncoded key into the ignition. Turn the ignition to the on position and keep it on for at least 6 seconds. Remove the newly coded key from the ignition.
There are two under-hood fuse boxes in the engine compartment. The main fuse box is located on the passenger’s side near the battery. To open it, push the two tabs as shown. All the electrical circuits in your car have fuses to protect them from a short circuit or overload.
