What is the minimum distance you should keep between boats?
The speed limit for personal watercraft is no more than 5 mph when 100 feet from swimmers and/or 200 feet from a beach. You must be 16 years old to ride alone. Twelve to 15-year-olds must ride with someone 18 or older.
It is illegal to operate a “ski craft” within a cove (a bay or inlet that does not exceed 1,000 feet at its widest point) or within 300 feet of shore unless the “ski craft” is proceeding at headway speed directly to an area where “ski craft” operation is permitted. “Ski craft” must operate in a responsible manner. Must not be within 100 feet of shore, boats, persons, obstacles in the water. There has to be room on boat for skier. The boat must also have a lifejacket for the skier.

The distance of how far a jet ski can go offshore varies widely depending on its fuel consumption, tank capacity, riding speed, and weather conditions. As a rule of thumb, jet skis can go 25-50 miles offshore without carrying extra fuel in jerry cans or auxiliary fuel tanks.

Becoming airborne while crossing the wake of another motorboat within 100 feet of that motorboat. PWC cannot jump the wake of a boat pulling skiers or tubers. PWC cannont jump wake of a boat within 50 yards of the boat. Vessels must stay 5 lengths away from longest vessel.
