What happened to Keven Dino Conner?
Published 6:30 am CST, Saturday, February 1, 2003. Keven A. “Dino” Conner, a force in Houston’s rhythm and blues scene, died Tuesday in an automobile accident.
Those plans are now on hold after Conner’s death. Houston police report that a sports utility vehicle struck a car driven by Teshya Rae Weisent, 22, in which Conner was a passenger. Conner’s twin brother and bandmate, Shazam Conner, said Weisent had just picked Dino Conner up from his recording studio.
The SUV allegedly ran a red light and struck the vehicle, throwing Conner and Weisent from the car. Conner died en route to the hospital; Weisent was dead at the scene. “We had basically just finished recording our new album and were getting ready for an H-Town reunion tour,” said Shazam Conner.
On January 28, 2003, after leaving a Houston recording studio, Dino and his pregnant fiancee were stopped at a red light when a speeding SUV crashed into the driver’s side of the car, ejecting both Dino and his fiancee into a parking lot. Keven A. Conner, better known to R&B fans as Dino, lead singer of the group H-Town, was killed in a car accident on Tuesday. According to Houston police, Dino, 28, had just left a recording studio and was a passenger in a car being driven by his girlfriend, 22-year-old Teshya Rae Weisent.
