D-BOX has only been standard projection at the Cinemark installations I’ve been to. XD is a better single projection system than their standard projection that’s used for the D-Box theaters I’ve visited at Cinemark properties- it really just means enhanced seating.
Is XD the same as 3D?
Cinemark XD can show whatever they want. Though if you want to see a movie in IMAX 3D, but the IMAX Digital is the only one available in your area, that is when you resort to Cinemark XD. It’s cheaper than an IMAX Digital ticket, and a couple of quarters more expensive than a regular 3D ticket.
