Great Balls are not that good, if you are going to use any of the three original types to Poké Balls, use Ultra Balls. Don’t use Poké Balls. That is a horrible idea, due to the fact Giratina’s catch rate is 3, and is hard to catch in a Poké Ball. Only use a Poké Ball if you want a big challenge (or bragging rights).
Despite its dark past and imposing appearance, players can catch Giratina and add it to their Dex in both Diamond and Pearl.
It is located on Route 206, beneath the Cycling Road, needing Cut to be accessed. There is a side quest inside the cave where the player can join an NPC Trainer named Mira and lead her out of the cave. There is a hidden entrance directly under Cycling Road west of the main Wayward Cave entrance.

There is no way to consistently traverse the cave as rooms are always randomized upon entry, but the best hint to navigate the puzzle is to look at the pattern of rocks on the floor of each room, and enter the door out of the three which has the odd pattern.
