Does Viscose Shrink When You Wash It? Yes, it does. It is also prone to mildew and have its fibers weaken when it gets to wet. The best way to care for Viscose made clothing is to make sure you dry clean the fabric and not wash it.
Does viscose shrink every time you wash it?
It shrinks to half its size! Polyamide is often blended with viscose or rayon. We don’t recommend washing items that contain polyamide since this fabric can expand when laundered.
Polyamide can be tumble dried without worry of shrinkage on low, or line dried. To reduce wrinkles, remove from the dryer while still damp or line dry. Avoid direct sunlight. Steam after washing to remove wrinkles and between wears to freshen and remove odor and bacteria.
