Can I eat rice Krispy treats with braces?
If you like sticky or fluffy candy, you can probably safely enjoy 3 Musketeers and Milky Way and similar candies. Don’t worry though; some Halloween treats (in moderation) can still be enjoyed when you have braces. And that is not a trick, just a treat!
Any type of hard and crunchy food is something you will want to avoid while wearing your braces. Chips like Fritos, Doritos, Tostitos, Cheetos, Takis, as well as pretzels and other hard breads are foods that can not only damage your wire, but also cause your brackets to break.
Cake is a great dessert for those with braces because it’s so soft and fluffy. Be careful not to eat cake that has anything too sticky or chewy accompanying it, such as frosting or gummies baked in. Pudding/Jello/Etc. As you may expect, pudding is an easy dessert to eat with braces due to its liquidy nature.
Soft cookies (without nuts) are good, but avoid hard cookies like Oreos and Chips Ahoy unless you’re a milk dunker. Ice cream is fine, but skip the nuts and hard candy toppings.
Hot cereals are perfectly appropriate during braces treatment, so continue eating oatmeal, rice cereal, cream-of-wheat, and other similarly soft hot cereals. Hard, crunchy cereals that you eat with milk are not safe to eat with braces.
Marshmallows are also on the bill, as they are soft, chewy, but not gooey; they can easily be removed as they do not stick to tooth surfaces. You may need to rinse afterwards though. Cookies and cakes are also on the menu for candy that can be eaten, as well as fudge as long as it is not gooey.
Best of all, patients with braces can easily slurp up the soup and eat the bite-sized rice cakes. To avoid overly chewy rice cakes, boil them a little longer than you usually would and make sure to cut them into small pieces.
Foods to Avoid with Braces That means that anything hard, crunchy, sticky or chewy, or any foods you have to bite into, are a no-go during braces treatment. That’s because these foods can get stuck in your braces — or worse, break your brackets — and they can make it harder to clean your teeth properly.

Rice crispy treats are fun to make and even more fun to eat. Rice crispy treats are soft enough to easily bite into and are not too sticky. Cupcakes, cake and other baked goods are Easter treats safe for braces as well since they are soft if they don’t contain hard nuts. Fruit is a natural candy!
